Public Hearings Scheduled on GMP's Request for an Overall 4.98% Rate Increase
On April 14, 2017, Green Mountain Power (GMP) filed a revised tariff with the Vermont Public Utility Commission (formerly the Public Service Board) reflecting an overall increase in rates of 4.98%, with a request that the tariff take effect on January 1, 2018.
On May 15, 2017, the Vermont Department of Public Service recommended the Commission suspend the effective date of the rate change and open an investigation of GMP’s tariff filing. The Commission has adopted the Department’s recommendation and will conduct a traditional cost-of-service investigation of GMP’s tariff filing of April 14, 2017, for rates to become effective on or after January 1, 2018.
Public hearings have been scheduled and the public is encouraged to attend and share their opinions on the proposed rate increase. Public hearings will be held:
- On Thursday, August 3, 2017, at 7:00 pm, at the Montpelier High School Auditorium, 5 High School Drive, Montpelier, Vermont
- On Monday, August 7, 2017, at 7:00 pm, at the Rutland High School Lecture Hall, 22 Stratton Road, Rutland, Vermont
- On Thursday, August 10, 2017, at 7:00 pm, at the St. Albans City Hall Auditorium, 100 North Main Street, St. Albans, Vermont
