State Plans

The Department of Public Service (DPS) is required by Vermont Statutes to produce three state plans.

• The Vermont Telecommunicatons Plan. DPS, in coordination with the Department of Innovation and Information and the Agency of Commerce, produces a seven-year plan that serves as the basis for state telecommunications policy. The plan is updated every three years.
• The Vermont Electric Plan. DPS prepares the the Electric Plan to lay out long-range goals, specific objectives and recommended actions to meet Vermont's electricity needs.
• The Comprehensive Energy Plan addresses all energy resources and covers a period of 20 years, with updates at least every five years.
