Conflict of Interest Policy

Description
The Conflict of Interest policy establishes standards that provide a reasonable expectation that the design, conduct and reporting of projects wholly or in part funded under federal financial assistance awards (e.g., grant, cooperative agreement, or technology investment agreement) will be free of bias resulting from financial conflicts of interest or organizational conflicts of interest.
The purpose of this policy is to meet the requirements of federal awarding agencies for non-federal entities to disclose in writing any potential conflicts of interest in accordance with applicable Federal awarding agency policy. 2 CFR 200.112 The Department of Public Service’s cognizant agency is the U.S. Department of Energy which has established an interim conflict of interest policy.

Description
The purpose of this policy is to state the Vermont Department of Public Service (“the Department”) prohibition against discrimination based on race, creed, religion, color, national origin (including limited English proficiency), ancestry, place of birth, marital status, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, breastfeeding, age, disability, or political beliefs in the administration of our programs, services, and activities. This policy also establishes the complaint/grievance process to follow in the event of a claim of discrimination other than those lodged by employees.

Initial Language Access Plan

Description
The Vermont Department of Public Service (the “Department”) Initial Language Access Plan (“LAP”) contains the policy and steps describing how the Department will provide information and services to people who speak languages other than English and have “limited English proficiency” or people who use various modes of communication, such as people with hearing, vision, or speech loss. The Department is committed to providing everyone in Vermont effective communication, equal opportunity, and meaningful access to its programs, activities, and services.

Personally Identifiable Information (“PII”) is collected in a variety of electronic and manual situations and is protected by policy and law.
