10-Year Telecommunications Plan

The Vermont Department of Public Service is working with an outside consultant to develop and write a Telecommunications Plan that meets new requirements set forth by Act 79 (2019), an act relating to broadband deployment throughout Vermont, and 30 V.S.A. § 202d, as amended by Act 137 (2020), an act relating to COVID-19 funding and assistance for broadband connectivity, housing, and economic relief.

Public Participation

The Department of Public Service intends to host two public input  sessions for the Vermont 10 year telecommunications plan. Each session will have themes and prompts to encourage targeted input, but the public will have the ability to bring forth any topic related to the 10 year telecommunications plan during each session. The first session will be focused on broadband policy, and the second session will be focused on cell service, public safety, and public access television. However, Vermonters will have the ability to comment on any topic related to the 10-year telecommunications plan at either session. If you cannot make it to the session focused on your particular area of interest, please attend the one you can and your comments will be welcome.
