The Vermont Department of Public Service convened the Rate Design Initiative (RDI), a multi-stakeholder process to explore options and provide guidance to the Department on future rate design cases. The RDI is funded with resources from the U.S. Department of Energy State Energy Program.
In the spring of 2019, PSD solicited bids for a contractor to facilitate the process to facilitate the process and selected NewGen Strategies and Solutions, LLC from Colorado in September 2019. The initiative began with a kick-off in December 2019; two more workshops occurred in January and April 2020 and now two more workshops are scheduled for May and June, leading to a final report this summer.
