This web site is a rich resource for news, historical and current data, and analysis on all energy sources and uses. This can be the first place to check for energy information. The Annual Energy Report webpage is a good resource for historical data.

U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS)

The DOL maintains a wide range of data sets on employment, prices and living conditions (including the Consumer Price Index), compensation and working conditions, and productivity and technology.

BGS maintains a web page containing Weekly Rack Prices for Vermont's Market Area.

Commodity Market Information


This webpage features frequently updated futures prices of crude oil, heating oil, and natural gas as, well as other commodities. They also offer energy news briefs.

Ino.com's New York Mercantile Exchange

This webpage starts off with energy futures and provides information on a variety of commodity exchanges.

TFC offers an online (and short) Commodity Markets Course for the novice, as well as Commodity Charts.

Oil Supply

Long Term World Oil Supply (A Resource Base/ Production Path Analysis) is one of many analysises offered by the EIA.

The USGS World Petroleum Assessment (2000) offers a sophisticated and detailed statistical analysis.
