The Vermont Department of Public Service is soliciting information for the preparation of an updated State Telecommunications Plan.
This plan is being prepared pursuant to Act No. 79 "An act relating to broadband deployment throughout Vermont." The act amended 30 V.S.A. § 202d with additional directions for what should be included in the preparation, writing, and adoption of the State’s Telecommunications Plan.
The Department of Public Service intends to evaluate the submissions by respondents to learn whether the Department should issue an RFP for the same set of services. The RFI has four key objectives:
- Provide prospective respondents with information regarding the business need
- Solicit respondent information to assist the State in determining if consultants are available and able to satisfy identified requirements
- Solicit respondent information to assist the State in determining if identified requirements can be met in a cost-effective manner
- Solicit work samples from consultants who have provided plans or reports similar in scope to the current request
