November 1, 2017 federal changes to Lifeline program go into effect in Vermont

Effective November 1, 2017, federal regulations regarding how Vermont consumers qualify for the Lifeline program go into effect. The biggest change for Vermont consumers is that they will no longer submit an application to the Vermont Department for Children and Families Economic Services Division to determine whether they are eligible for the discount. As of November 1, 2017, Vermont consumers will submit an application directly to their participating carrier, along with documentation supporting their eligibility.

For more information, please see the Department's Lifeline webpage.
