Expanding Rural Broadband Access in Vermont

Description
The Vermont Department of Public Service is proud to announce an exciting project funded by the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) aimed at expanding rural broadband access across the state. This project seeks to bridge the digital divide, ensuring that all Vermonters have access to reliable, high-speed internet connectivity.

Clean Heat Standard

Description
The Vermont Clean Heat Standard is a policy initiative aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions from heating fuels used in the state.
In 2023, the Vermont Legislature enacted S.5, the “Affordable Heat Act.” By 2025, the Vermont Public Utility Commission must produce a report estimating the economic impact of the program on customers. At that time, the legislature must pass a second law to enact the full Clean Heat Standard.
